Avelor setup guide

1. In WordPress, go to Appearance > Themes > Add New > Upload Theme.
2. Upload avelor-1.0.2.zip and activate Avelor.
3. Go to Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin. Install avelor-business-1.0.1.zip and activate it.
4. Optional: Appearance > Avelor Setup > Import demo content.
5. Appearance > Customize > Site Identity: set your site name, logo and favicon.
6. Appearance > Customize > Avelor settings: configure homepage, contact details, colors, fonts, section order and visibility.
7. Appearance > Menus: assign primary, footer company and footer legal menus.
8. Settings > Reading: confirm your homepage and posts page. Settings > Permalinks: save the structure.

WordPress 6.6 or later; PHP 8.0 or later. Runtime validation performed with WordPress 7.1.3 and PHP 8.3 in WordPress Playground's PHP-WASM/SQLite environment. MySQL hosting and a cross-browser/device matrix remain deployment checks; no blanket compatibility guarantee is implied.

Services: Dashboard > Services. Edit title, excerpt, block content, featured image, icon, and Order under Page Attributes.
Case studies: Dashboard > Case Studies. Edit content, excerpt, featured image, category, and project details. Order controls homepage and archive ordering.
Articles and ordinary pages use the native block editor. Content entered on the assigned Home page appears below the configured homepage sections. About and Contact pages have dedicated templates selectable in the page editor.
Testimonials and partner logos are optional and disabled on a fresh installation. Enter genuine feedback and permitted logos in the Customizer, then enable the sections.
Homepage sections can be moved with the up/down controls under Homepage section order. Each section has a visibility switch.
Footer columns and the blog sidebar accept native WordPress widgets. If no widgets are assigned, the theme supplies a useful fallback.
Colors and typography use native Customizer controls. Public Sans is bundled locally; system sans-serif and Georgia are alternatives. Use Additional CSS for advanced changes.

The companion plugin provides the form and administrator-only Enquiries inbox. The form stores a private enquiry first, then attempts notification through wp_mail. A notification marked accepted by mail transport does not confirm inbox delivery. Configure authenticated SMTP with your host and verify delivery.
Appearance > Avelor Setup sets the recipient and retention (7–365 days, default 90). Expired enquiries are permanently deleted by WordPress cron. Back up/export any records you need to keep. WordPress Tools > Export Personal Data and Erase Personal Data support enquiry records.
The form includes nonce verification, validation, a honeypot, per-IP hashed rate limiting, duplicate prevention and consent. It is not a substitute for hosting-level spam protection. No raw IP is stored by this plugin.
Use [avelor_contact] to place the form on another page. An email action remains available when the plugin is inactive.

Import is explicit and administrator-only. It does not overwrite existing posts/pages and is repeatable without duplicating its own tracked content. It adds illustrative services, projects, articles and starter pages. Existing static homepage/menu assignments are preserved. The privacy starter remains a draft and is not assigned automatically. Publish your own policy and assign it under Settings > Privacy. Existing matching content is not given demo metadata or images. Sample company details, claims, project examples and legal text must be reviewed before launch.
Theme activation alone does not import content. The default layout supplies starter sections; services link to Contact until service content exists. The reference's paid slider/page-builder plugins are not required.

Uses title-tag support, semantic headings, responsive images, local font, lazy-loaded below-fold imagery, native post/page content and WordPress archives. There are no built-in ranking guarantees. Configure an SEO plugin for metadata, schema, sitemaps and social previews. The theme does not emit competing custom SEO metadata.
Enable HTTPS and hosting caching. Test with your actual content and plugins. Use meaningful alt text for your uploaded images. Review analytics and cookie requirements for your business.

Back up the site, then update both theme and companion plugin. Clear page/CDN caches after updating. Exclude URLs containing avlb_receipt from full-page caching; standard WordPress cache-control/DONOTCACHEPAGE headers are emitted for these pages. Keep admin-ajax.php available for fresh form nonces. Failed form input is stored temporarily for up to ten minutes behind a random one-use receipt; no entered fields are placed in the URL. Rate limiting uses the server-provided IP; review this setting with your host if many visitors share a reverse proxy or office connection.
Custom Contact pages imported by Avelor are tracked by ID, so changing their slug preserves theme links. Quote URL controls the header CTA separately. Directions URL is under Header & contact details. Password-protected page/service/project templates show the password form without their extra sections.
