For Pawfiora 1.3.4. Follow these instructions in order to install the veterinary clinic WordPress theme, build the starter site and configure your real clinic details. System requirements: WordPress 6.2 or later, PHP 7.4 or later, and administrator access.

Quick start: 12 installation steps

1. Download the correct ZIP

   In your ThemeScorpion order downloads, save pawfiora-1.3.4.zip. Do not unzip it before uploading it through WordPress. If you received a buyer bundle, extract that outer bundle first and use the Pawfiora theme ZIP inside. Make a backup before changing a live website.

2. Install and activate Pawfiora

   Sign in to your WordPress dashboard. Go to Appearance → Themes → Add New → Upload Theme. Select pawfiora-1.3.4.zip, click Install Now, and then Activate. Requires WordPress 6.2+ and PHP 7.4+.

3. Create your starter pages

   Go to Appearance → Pawfiora Setup. Choose Create missing starter pages. On a fresh site, this creates Home, About, Services, Our Team, Pricing, Contact and Journal. Pages with matching slugs are reused, not overwritten. On an existing site, the importer will not replace an assigned Primary menu.

4. Set the homepage and posts page

   Open Settings → Reading and choose Your homepage displays → A static page. Set Homepage: Home and Posts page: Journal, if not already set. Click Save Changes.

5. Check menus and permalinks

   Under Appearance → Menus, confirm the Primary menu has the correct page links and no duplicates. Remove links left over from a previously installed theme. Open Settings → Permalinks and save a readable structure (for example, Post name). This often resolves 404s after creating new pages.

6. Configure clinic information

   Open Appearance → Customize. Update the clinic name and logo, real telephone number, real email address, location, hours and appointment button. Remove every sample or placeholder business detail before going live.

7. Choose colors, typography and homepage content

   Inside the Customizer, select a coordinated color palette or individual colors, choose fonts and sizes, and edit the hero, services, team, pricing, FAQs, social profiles and footer. Click Publish. Reload the homepage to verify that settings were saved.

8. Import WebP demo photographs (optional)

   Go back to Appearance → Pawfiora Setup and click Import local demo photos (optional). This imports four Pexels photographs to the Media Library and uses WebP conversion when available. Your existing selected photos are preserved. Replace all stock photos with original clinic photography for a real practice.

9. Configure video and social links

   In Appearance → Customize → Homepage: Video showcase, enter a valid YouTube or Vimeo link. Without a configured video URL, the showcase falls back to an About link, not an embedded video. Set your own Facebook and other social links.

10. Test appointment enquiries and email

    The Contact page form submits an appointment request; it is not an online scheduling or payment system. Set a real recipient address, configure SMTP if needed, submit a real test request, and confirm delivery in the receiving inbox. Have your clinic confirm actual appointment availability separately.

11. Set basic SEO information

    Under Settings → General, change the site title and tagline. Use an SEO plugin if desired for search snippets, sitemaps and social sharing. Enter true clinic details before enabling VeterinaryCare local-business schema. Review image alt text and heading structure.

12. Perform the launch checklist

    Check Home, About, Services, Team, Pricing, Contact and Journal on desktop and a phone. Check the mobile menu, forms, FAQs, all CTA buttons, footer, photos and video. Remove unrelated demonstration articles and replace all sample clinic prices with accurate information. Run PageSpeed Insights after launch.

Frequently asked questions

Why does the page say 404?

Check whether the page exists and is published, rerun the starter-page importer if pages are missing, then open Settings → Permalinks and save. Make sure your menu items point to the correct pages.

Why do I see an old shop or duplicated menu links?

The importer preserves your existing menus and posts. Open Appearance → Menus and remove duplicate items or previously installed theme links. Existing WooCommerce products are not veterinary demonstration content.

Where does the appointment form send messages?

Requests are sent through WordPress mail to the configured clinic email or WordPress administrator email when the clinic email is not valid. Configure SMTP for reliable delivery and verify with a real inbox test.

Do I need Elementor?

No. Pawfiora is designed for native WordPress functionality and uses the WordPress Customizer.

Will my site look identical immediately after activation?

The homepage layout loads with theme defaults, but inner-page links require the optional starter-page setup. Stock images can be imported separately. Replace all sample copy, prices and photographs before publishing a real clinic website.
